00:00: Welcome to AIP’s Power BI Dashboard Tutorial. In this video, you will learn how to

00:05: navigate AIP’s Power BI dashboards using the Academic Program Review Dashboard as an example.

00:11: This guide will walk you through navigating layout elements, applying filters, utilizing chart and table views, and exploring interactive features to maximize your data insights.

00:22: To begin, find the Interactive Dashboards page on the Analytics and Integrated

00:26: Planning website. You can find the link in the lower right corner of this video.

00:34: Once you’re on the Academic Program Review Dashboard, we will guide you through

00:38: Power

00:38: BI dashboards features and usage. Not all Power

00:41: BI dashboards have the same features and layout. Use this as your guide to get

00:46: familiar with the different functionalities.

00:47: To begin, the reference guide button will typically be in the title bar, usually

00:51: right after the title. Reviewing the reference guide will give you more information

00:55: about the dashboard, including its purpose, the update cycle, and definitions of

01:00: terms used in the dashboard.

01:02: Clicking on the page names on the left will allow you to view different pages within the dashboard

01:11: Filters are often found at the top of the page or down the left side of the

01:14: dashboard. There are single select and multi-select filters.

01:19: Single select filters, such as the Metrics filter

01:21: allow you to view one metric at a time.

01:28: Select one of the colleges to focus enrollment data on that specific academic area.

01:33: To clear a filter, click on the eraser icon above it.

01:36: Notice that the data in the chart and table changed back to the default for the

01:40: filter -all colleges.

01:42: The clear filters button on the right side of the filters

01:44: at the top will clear all selections from multi-select filters.

01:48: The Default View button in the top right corner will reset the page to the original

01:52: view.

01:52: This includes resetting both single-select and multi-select filters to go back to the

01:57: original published view.

01:59: Some dashboards include a chart view and a table view.

02:02: The table view may contain additional data like counts and percentages.

02:17: Clicking on an area within the chart will often highlight corresponding data points

02:20: and other charts or tables across the page.

02:23: Click the Degrees page to proceed to the next step.

02:26: Sometimes there will be a button or buttons in the top right corner of the

02:30: dashboard that will take you to related data within the same page.

02:34: Click the View by Plan and Subplan button.

02:40: Notice you can click the plus sign next to each plan to drill down to all subplans.

02:46: You can click the return to previous button to go back to the original visuals.

02:51: The menu in the top left includes a share button which will provide a link to the

02:55: dashboard.

02:56: You have successfully navigated the Academic Program Review dashboard in Power BI,
